As far as marketing goes, pumpkin spice season is one of the most successful campaigns in the history of human manipulation. (Thank you, Starbucks.) Brands looking to hop on the bandwagon have made everything from toothpaste to potato chips in what has become the flavor of fall. (We’re all for it in cream cheese, but pumpkin spice ramen? Eew.)
But do you know what’s not manipulation? Yep, that’s right: the beneficial effects of CBD. CBD has been shown to help people with stress, anxiety, mood, focus, inflammation, and sleep—which, let’s face it, you’ll need help with after all those pumpkin spice lattés.
So, in honor of pumpkin spice season, here’s a great recipe for a CBD latté you can make at home. Call it a “wake-up with a side of chill.” (You can even add a few shots of rum, bourbon, or vanilla vodka for a boozy Sunday brunch.) This recipe makes enough for four steaming cups.
- • 1/3 cup canned 100% pumpkin
- • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- • 1/4 cup sugar
- • 1 cup strong coffee or 4-5 shots of espresso
- • 1 cup milk
- • 2 cups half-and-half
- • 2 teaspoons vanilla
- • 4 mL of Miraflora CBD Tincture
- • Optional: 4 shots of booze (rum, bourbon, or vanilla vodka)
- • Whipped cream
Directions: Whisk all ingredients—except for the CBD and booze—in a saucepan. Heat until it’s nearly boiling. Whisk in CBD and booze until blended. Pour into cups and top with whipped cream. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
