Take the Crazy Out of Your Cat

Hey, people. Make fun of crazy cat ladies all you want, but first imagine how sane you’d be if you were awakened every day at 3 a.m. by a fanged nocturnal predator clawing its way up your window screen, curtains, or bed sheets. As cat owners ourselves, we say this with the greatest respect and affection: Our feline friends be cray cray. 

This is where CBD comes in. We know, we know, trying to get a cat to eat anything new—“Sniff, this $2 can of Fancy Feast is not paté”—is not an easy task, so our CBD Chews are probably a no-go. But, come bedtime, grab that critter by the scruff and give him a little squeeze of our Pet Tincture. It may help him chill out—and let you get some much-needed rest. 

Technically, we made our tincture for dogs. Well, if you want to get completely accurate about it, we made it for people—our pet tincture is the same organic CBD we use in our people products. But our customers have said it helps for all kinds of furry friends.

Both dogs and cats have an endocannabinoid system that works much like humans’ do. In fact, dogs have even more CBD receptors than humans, which means the stuff might work even better for them, helping to ease anxiety, reduce inflammation, and support their joints and brains. More research needs to be done, of course, but it also appears to be a safer alternative to powerful pain killers that can damage vital organs over time.

For all pets, we recommend a weight-based dosage. For animals less than 26 pounds, squeeze a full 1 mL dropper (10 mg of CBD) in their food or—especially for those fussy felines—directly in their mouths. For animals 51-100 lbs, use 3 mL. For animals bigger than 100 lbs, use 4 mL. Then give them a pat on the head and tuck yourself in for a night where the only crazy will be in your dreams.
